Certain computer skills form also an important part of skills that future ESL teachers should be trained in.

In our TESL teacher training program, we have a course module called CALL (computer-assisted (language) learning), and we train our students in creating interactive and multimedia-featured ESL lessons for the web. There are special software programs to author such lessons for the web or a local school intranet, and there is a huge selection of Text-To-speech software to create sound files from written computer-based written texts.

In future contributions to this board, I would like to share some of the insights and experiences we have had in this area and to publish some details on suitable authoring tools and text-to-speech software and how that may be used in teaching.

I can't do that now as I have no time at the moment. But maybe, someone else has got something to share meanwhile...
