It's the same in most countries tough, outside of large cities. In a small village, a guy marries a local girl and 30 years later, he is always referred to by his family name (never his first name), always the foreigner. In Denmark, a Canadian girl marries a Danish man: Twenty years and 2 kids later, she is always an outsider. And if they divorce, she has to leave the country. I think it is the same in Switzerland.
