Well, if you don't want to live in the cold then realize that summers in the south and even northern southern parts of China will get sweltering hot and humid in the summer months. If you can stand that, then great!

It's not really about the qualifications that you have but more so choosing the right school at the right time.

Most private schools in China are crap and over-hire so they can keep things safe for themselves and get more of the people who they want without really giving a rip about what happens to those teachers who they let go.

A lot boils down to your personality as well.

If they like you more than others then expect to be treated better.

I would totally advise you to get a few of the foreign teachers Skype ID'S so you can get all the answers to your questions in an unbiased way.

I can give you some insight into the right questions to ask if you wish.

All in all... you need to get a little "lucky" if you want to stay happily in China for a longer duration of time and one year qualifies!
