I agree with what you wrote there.

It does seem very regulated and standardized.

The problem with TEFL in China is,especially at the training centre level, it does not matter what or who you were back home...they just want a handsome white face.

An ex admin worker or dole dosser can be a "teacher" in China. I have in fact met two such non qualified blokes in a certain city in Central China, it speaks volumes that one of them didn't have a penny to his name nor any sense of style...but these TC's reap what they sow!!
