I'm seriously considering applying for a TESOL certification program in Japan or possibly Korea (most likely in the summer or next fall). I completed a dual degree MA program at Columbia University and the London School of Economics a few years ago and I'm curious from those that have certification and have been in the job market, whether or not these credentials would give me an advantage. Also, I've accumulated a bit of debt and want to know if teaching abroad affords you the ability to chip away at your debt. Again, I'm very new to this process and looking for helpful information as i begin planning.
