This is what happened in terms of my experience with ITTT. I emailed ITTT to inquire about the 10% discount that is advertised on Go Teach's website. The response I got from Alex of ITTT read:
Hi Cheryl,
Just choose the US$250 option and you will receive the complete course.
Alex
I responded by telling him that he had not answered my question. I wanted to know specifically about the 10% discount.
This is what he said in return, “
Hi Cheryl.
Well let's see. Telling you to take the $250 option (instead of US$295) is greater than a 10% discount. If you cannot understand this, then maybe a career as a mathematics teacher would be more suitable.
Alex
Now I ask you, What justified that response? It was completely rude, derogatory, and insulting. Obviously ITTT does not respect its customers. I can assure you that I refuse to pay for bad service. I took my money and went to another course provider. I am posting this message because I wouldn’t want anyone else to experience what I experienced.
There are different levels of service that have different prices for the TEFL courses that ITTT offers. Alex’s response to me was that the $250 was clearly a greater discount than 10% would be. I ask you, Is that clear from this webpage? The option that is listed for $250 reads:
TEFL Certification - Basic course, 10 units delivered online (includes CD-Rom) $250
Also includes individual tutor support and job guidance.
The option for $295 reads:
Complete TEFL Certification, 20-Unit online course (includes CD-ROM) $295
Also includes individual tutor support, course materials and job guidance. (A saving of US$200!)
The $250 option is the basic course with only 10 units, while the $295 option is a 20-unit course. Why did he feel the need to insult me by saying that I should be a mathematics teacher if I could not see that $250 was a greater discount than 10% off?
I am extremely displeased with the customer service (or lack thereof) that I received from ITTT. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If they feel this free to insult potential customers, and even put it in writing, it doesn’t speak well of the company.
Sincerely,
Cheryl
