I'm a French national and I want to broaden my knowledge. I am a teacher of English already and holds a French qualification to teach English as a foreign language called CAPES (Certificate of Proficiency for Teaching in Secondary Education)but I also know that the qualification I have is not recognised outside France. I would like to gain some credibility and was wondering a few things.

What is the difference between TEFL, TESOL and CELTA ? Which one(s) is (are)likely to be most recognised ?

I am not a native English speaker, do you think it will be a handicap ?
