I was interested to read your question about ESL qualifications. I have a professional diploma in TESOL (I am also Australian - Perth) and now work as a TESOL instructor in Perth. I find that experienced teachers like yourself DO benefit from TESOL because it is a completely different methodology than what you are used to. I am also a trained teacher, but I found doing the TESOL course was definitely worthwhile. Yes, schools will more than likely take you on without ESL qual's, but you need to consider what the job entails. The methodologies are definitely worth a look-in.
