TESOL, TEFL and CELTA forum
Hello everyone, I am an aspiring English teacher and I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I would like to do the celta course in order to get a proper tefl qualification.
I was wondering if the fact that I am not a mother tongue English speaker (I am Italian) could be a problem or at some point an obstacle in my job search. I would like to work in Spain, Portugal or even Ireland, where I am currently living.
Also, I was just wondering if taking the celta course in an English speaking country would give me a better preparation/qualification than taking the same course in a non-English speaking country. I do realise my question might sound a bit naive as it is probably not the case but I'd just like to make sure of that.
I would be really grateful if anyone was able to help me with my queries.
thanks in advance and have a nice weekend everyone.
