Greetings friends! Ok, once and for all, can I teach English in Cambodia with a tefl cert, but no degree or not?? If so, how difficult is it to land this job? Will I find someone to hire me before I leave my home in the States behind, or must I jump in the deep end and go to Cambodia and present myself in person with no guarantees of any kind? I had originally wished to go to Thailand, but having heard all about the degree requirement, began to look at Myanmar. Then there was the real estate issue there. So I switched gears yet again to Cambodia, having learned that their qualification requirements are far more lax. However, I have heard conflicting reports on this matter. I definitely intend to get my tefl cert. Hopefully I will choose the right one, a widely accepted and reputable one, which is another issue about which I have many questions. Well actually, only one question. Which one should I attend?? I have a better than average command of the English language. Will this factor in? My desire to teach in southeast Asia is deep, because I am also feeling a calling to do something to assist in the fight against human trafficking. I simply MUST make this all work out. This alone is my path to fulfilment. I KNOW that this is what I am supposed to do. Now, I just need to figure out how. I thank you all in advance for any info that you can provide. God bless you all.
