Hi, I am currently a high school Spanish teacher in Houston, TX but would like to teach English to speakers of other languages. I want to teach either at the community college level or at a private language school. I love to teach, but am trying to escape the discipline issues. I am looking for more respectful, appreciative, and motivated students. Can you please tell me what kind of a job I would be able to find with a TESOL certificate versus a Master's Degree in TESOL? What are the advantages of each one in terms of cost, time it takes to complete, and typical starting salary? How hard is it to find a TESOL job in the Houston area these days?
