Sarah, I know you are trying to be helpful in your submission, but you might want to read Joan Taber’s blog on methodology. Although she’s not disparaging about the Direct Method, she does place it, and its inventor Charles Berlitz, in historical context. Notice the point about small class sizes.

(Personally, if purchasing a language course, I would opt for Pimsleur over Berlitz anyday).
