Video Games Can Help Relieve Travel Blues
By:Stacey Moore

Every year, families journey an average of 245 miles during the Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks and, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, more than 90 percent of holiday travel will be done by personal automobile.

That's a lot of time for kids to spend in the backseat.

In preparation for these long road trips, kids and parents across the country will be looking for entertainment options to battle the "backseat blues." To help, there are new titles for portable video games based on popular Disney Channel and film properties.

"Our games are popular with kids year-round, even more so when there's a need for fun and exciting portable entertainment to help pass the time on long holiday trips," said Craig Relyea, vice president of marketing for Buena Vista Games, Disney's video game affiliate. "Playing as your favorite characters from popular programs is a fun, affordable way to cure the holiday travel blues."

The following Disney games are slated for release in time for the holidays:

"The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Tipton Trouble"-Nintendo DS.

"The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Tipton Caper"-GBA.

"The Cheetah Girls"-GBA.

"Disney's American Dragon: Jake Long: Attack of the Dark Dragon"-Nintendo DS.

"Disney's American Dragon: Jake Long: Rise of the Huntsclan"-GBA.

"That's So Raven: Psychic on the Scene"-Nintendo DS.

"Phil of the Future"-GBA.

"Hannah Montana"-Nintendo DS.

Based on the new film:

"Walt Disney Pictures Presents The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause"-GBA.
