Travel can be fun, and it can be dangerous at the same time. Many people have been raped and killed on vacation. The following tips can protect you from becoming a victim.

1) If you will be in the area where crime is high, you may want to hire security escort.

2) Do not show off your money in public. When you exchange money, you must do it with caution.

3) Watch out for children working with adults. Many of them are scammers and pickpockets.

4) Keep your passport in the safe place. It is not wise to show it to strangers unnecessarily.

5) Know bus and train schedules before traveling. You do not want to miss the last bus. You should always study the map before traveling.

6) Take first aid kit with you. You do not know what will happen on your trip. It is wise to carry medicine, bug repellent, sunscreen with you, when you visit foreign country.

7) Do not tell strangers your personal information, itinerary, or travel plan. You do not really know who you can trust. If you must talk about your personal information in public, you must keep your voice down.

8) Tell your family about your travel plan. You do not want to loose all credit cards in foreign land. If you run into event of emergency, they should know where you are. So they can help you.

9) If you have children, you should bring their photograph. If they are separated from you, it will come in handy.

10) Travel with no more than two credit cards. You do not want to loose all credit cards in foreign land. It is wise to keep some credit cards at home.
