Is Going On Vacationing With Jewelry Safe
By:Dror Klar

It is vacation time and it is so exciting! You are getting out all the things you plan to take with you and it will likely be too much, especially for women, it always is. There are so many things that you think you simply can not do without. With all the restrictions on airlines these days, everyone needs to minimize what is taken with you.

When you are picking out the jewelry items you want to take, think about these things. Is it something you will definitely wear? Will it match a number of outfits I am taking? Will I be terribly upset if it is lost or stolen during my trip? Do I have some costume pieces that would be more sensible to take? These are a few questions you should ask yourself before you pack certain pieces.

If you do decide to take some valuable necklaces, bracelets, or other jewelry that are quality pieces, check whatever insurance policies you might have to see if you are covered during a trip. Make sure the hotel you will be staying at will have a safety deposit box to store your valuables in when you arrive. Hotel room theft can occur sometimes even in the best establishments, and even if you are compensated for your loss, it can not replace the dinner ring inherited from your grandmother.

Keep your valuable items like your jewelry with you at all times on the way to your destination. The expensive jewelry you take on your trip is defiantly something you do not want to end up in a lost luggage pile who knows where. Jewelry should be packed into a small secure container of some sort that will not crush or open easily. If you can, fit the container in your purse, if not it should be in a carry on bag that locks. Never put valuable jewelry in a bag that is stored under the plane. You might get it back or you might not.

When traveling in some places tourist are often targets for thieves. If the area you are going to be in is known for pickpockets and muggings, by all means do not wear your good jewelry. Wait until you are in a safer environment to wear the good stuff! The last thing you want to have to think about on vacation is being robbed, and if you are flaunting valuable looking pieces of jewelry, it could attract attention alright, the wrong kind!
