Travel Tips

How to Pack Before Boarding an Airline
By:Tom Tessin

When you are getting ready for your trip on the airline first thing to consider is the right luggage. If you do not have any luggage some things to consider are the size, how sturdy are the wheels, and can you lock it. One of the main things when you do buy luggage do not buy the showy type for risk of getting it stolen or messed up in handling. You may want to add something to them in order to make them visible to yourself. The proper luggage is very important to help you pack and travel with ease.

When you do start to pack your luggage makes sure that you utilize every bit of space possible. You can roll up your under wears and put them in your shoes as an example of packing to save space. Use the sides to put in your personal care items like toothbrush etc. You can then put your shoes inside an old tube sock or perhaps you have one of the amenities kits that the airline gives you then there are socks inside this that is great to use for your shoes. Many suitcases have the lining that can be opened with a zipper use this waste space to put t shirts, very light pull over's, etc.

When you are going to take along your camera, cell phone, and other type of electronics make sure that you put a return address label on them to help prevent them from getting lost. It is a very good idea to put return address labels on any toys that your child is carrying to play with but do not put the child's name on the toy instead use an adult name and address. This is for the safety of the child in case a stranger sees the name and then calls the child by first name. In my family we use to make up a pretend name like Aunt Mary so if anyone called my daughter Mary she knew that they had read a label and really did not know us. When you are going to travel in a foreign country it is very advisable to put a label inside your child's clothes with contact information in case you get displaced. One important reminder do not put anything into packed luggage that you cannot do without for several days. You should travel with zip lock bags, paper towels and perhaps a lightweight tote bag packed inside your main piece of luggage. When you use these tips you will find that you can bring a lot more items and will be able to return with many more items.
