My name is Amy, and I am a Cambridge CELTA qualified English teacher from the United States. I offer private English lessons over Skype. I customize each lesson to meet your needs and fit your learning style.

I have years of experience teaching one-to-one and group classes to students of all different backgrounds. I have also worked for an American university as an English writing tutor and taught conversational, general, and business English to students in Japan. I hold a bachelor's degree in English with a focus on English writing, and I was certified at the British Council to teach English as a second language.

I understand many students have several goals around learning English such as taking an English exam or using English at work. Many students also would like to speak and write English with confidence and learn useful, practical English that they can use in their daily lives.

Therefore, I teach using the communicative language method along with the task-based learning method. This means I focus on English communication, especially speaking and writing. I also help each student practice their English to meet their real-life goals through customized activities specific to each student’s needs.

With each lesson, you will receive a 60 minute live session with me over Skype or another online platform such as Google Hangouts or Zoom.

I will also provide you with complimentary lesson summaries in the form of customized audio podcasts or written pdf files to give you more authentic listening, speaking or writing practice between your sessions. Each lesson summary will cover the new language learned during your session, error correction, as well as practical tips and tasks on how to improve your English in your daily life.

Scheduling and purchasing a lesson is simple and easy. Lessons can easily be scheduled through the online lesson scheduler on my website. This scheduler is set in your timezone. Lessons are purchased through Pay Pal or by credit/debit card.
