My name is Bogdana. Since I recently moved to San Jose from Eugene, Oregon, I’m looking for new students Russian or ESL students. I’m fluent in both English and Russian. I have ten years of experience tutoring both children and adults in Russia and the United States. In Russia I studied to be an ESL instructor and now I’m finishing my BA in Communication Disorders and Sciences. Since I have a lot of years of experience I’m good at personalizing my classes to fit the needs and learning style of my students. I strive for my students to achieve their personal language goals. I believe that language is an important part of culture, so I always give my students a cultural or historic context of a particular grammatical concept or a word. I think it doesn’t just broaden the understanding of the language but also makes it easier to remember. Since I studied to be an instructor and have been a successful student myself, I give my students helpful studying tips since I know that studying a foreign language can be a challenge.

I teach all levels of language from basic to advanced. When you become my student I’m available to you 24/7. I can answer your immediate questions via email, skype, or a phone call with no extra charge. My goal is to help you to be successful in learning a foreign language. I can help you with everything from learning an alphabet to leading a conversation in Russia/English or writing essays. I can prepare you for TOEFL or for your final exam in Russian course. I also can help you translate letters/emails from your friends or articles you are interested in.

I have experience working with Russian and American children, as young as 3 years old, teaching both Russian and English. Methods of teaching are usually based on the age of a child and the goals of the study. Songs, rhymes, story time, and games are always an essential part of our curriculum. I want the children not only learn the language but also enjoy learning and be curious about the language they are studying.
