My name is Sandi, and I am an accredited English language teacher. I hold a Trinity Cert TESOL, which is the equivalent of CELTA and is recognised by the British Council.
With over 17 years of teaching experience, I have gained a lot of teaching skills and methodologies. This includes teaching children, teenagers and adults. I have taught people face-to-face, in school, university and online.
I have a great knowledge of how people learn English. I have studied this area of linguistics and I know what areas of the English language international students have problems with. Each nationality has its own problems when learning English, such as grammatical structures, pronunciation, reading and writing.
I have also prepared students for IELTS exams with success. I have also a lot of experience teaching business English, including job interview skills and revising resumes.
I also hold a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Certificate) , which is an official document which is a legal requirement in the UK if working with children or in the community. It involves a police check. In addition I also hold a safeguarding certificate.
I am also trained to identify problems with dyslexia and autism. This is very useful as these factors can cause difficulties with learning for children and adults. When these problems are identified learning solutions can be designed accordingly.
Recently I have taught English at Princess Norah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Now I am looking to establish myself as an online teacher.
In my free time I enjoy linguistics, reading, poetry, travelling, walking, cooking, films and theatre. In addition to this, I am always updating my pedagogic skills.
If you require a good teacher with excellent teaching skills, then please contact me. I teach online and face-to-face.
