Part-time English/ESL tutors wanted!

OMNIS English Teaching Program is growing again and seeking teachers for one-to-one tutoring with Chinese children, aged 7-14, in reading and writing. The children are taking English as part of their regular school curriculum.

Each tutoring lesson is 45 minutes for $20 each lesson. Resource materials are provided. You are responsible for creating homework, and resources are available.

OMNIS is currently offering Canadians one-to-one tutoring opportunities that correspond to local China time (Shanghai):
1. Weekends, Saturday and Sunday mornings 6-9am
2. Weekday evenings 6-9pm

The candidate(s) must:

- speak English as your mother tongue
- have a personal computer with high-speed internet for the audio/video Skype-like interface, and to share their desktop with students for Internet, files, and pdf reading books/textbooks
- be comfortable independently using an online teaching platform (OMNIS uses Zoom video conferencing), Word and Adobe Acrobat, and navigating the Internet
- have training, certification (TESL Ontario/TESL Canada) and/or experience teaching ESL/English
- be reliable, professional, and work with little supervision
- have a quiet space to teach from home without interruptions, and
- have a good sense of humour and be creative
