Are you a freelance ESL teacher?
Are you tired of having your income go up and down like a Yo-Yo? I feel your pain! Hello, my name is Aaron, and I've been a freelance ESL teacher and ESL business owner for over 16 years. I know exactly how frustrating and downright scary it can be to try and live on an unpredictable freelance income.

Over the years, by struggling through my own yo-yo income challenges, I learned a great deal about creating stable, reliable income, and I would love to share a few of those hard learned lessons with you today.

A simple but powerful beginning: create your cancellation policy, and make it a document your prospective students sign.
Your cancellation policy should include specific info like:
- how much time they need to cancel by to avoid being charged. (I always used an 8 hour rule - if you cancelled with more than 8 hours notice, I would work to reschedule the class if possible. If class was cancelled with less than 8 hours notice, the student would not have the chance to reschedule, and I would bill for that class anyway.)

- Explain what will happen if you - the teacher - need to cancel. How will you reschedule the class?

- Excessive Cancellations: explain what you will do if students begin to cancel too much. For example: if the student cancels 3 or 4 classes a month, you reserve the right to cease working together.

Pro tip: convert your policy to PDF, most word processors do it easily today, and e-mail it to your prospective student a few days before class. Explain in your e-mail that the first few minutes of class will be spent with them signing the documents. Then you have their agreement in writing!

I've got some more ideas for you - like charging a fair fee and how to charge for it so your income stops bouncing around like a Yo-Yo, and much more.
I even put it all into a free e-book for you - just click the link below to get it.
I hope this is useful to you...
