Learn to Use Your Computer
By:Richard Johnstonn

In today's world most of us sit in front of the computer almost all day and do not get the exercise we need to maintain our bodies. There are many ways to help ease the body, or to help our bodies to keep fit. You might have the best ergonomic chair and all that goes with it; you still do not get what the body needs. We were not designed for sitting at long periods of time; we were made to be active.

Get up and move around about every thirty minutes will help get the circulation back in your body. Stretch as far as you can stretch; reach for the sky as they say. Bend from the waist and touch your toes, if you can't touch your toes, bend as far down as you can, it surely helps and it pulls your muscles out of the slump they are in when you sit for a long time. Be sure to breathe deeply while stretching, as this gets the air back into the blood.

While sitting in front of your computer, breathe deeply, in and out. Expand your lungs by breathing in through your nose and take as much air as you can, then breathe out slowly through your mouth. This really does help ease some stress and will keep you alert and it gets that air into the brain. While sitting, move those feet and ankles, flex your toes one at a time, turn your ankles in circles, as this will loosen up the bones. Do the same with your shoulders; turn them around and then backwards.

Remember your mother yelling at you to sit up straight, and do not slouch? Well this works very well sitting at the computer. It will ease the pressure on your spine, do not hunch forward, going towards the computer. This will only hurt your back and could develop problems later on. Your eyes can become blurry sitting so long at the computer as well. Look away from the computer at something that is far away, or roll your eyes gently from side to side. This will help with the eye strain and fatigue; sometimes the monitor will look blurry, it's time to look away.

If at all possible on your lunch break, walk, walk as far as time allows you to do. Remember though you have to walk back, so be careful on how far you walk. Your body will thank you for these little remedies to ease the computer stress.
