How to Create Online Teaching & Learning Plans
By:Bibiana da Silva

As a teacher, you carry the responsibility of educating the next generation of Americans. It can be difficult, which is why teachers often share lesson plans. Some teachers give them away freely while others charge a fee and use the money to buy classroom materials. Whether you want to share lesson plans for free or for a price, the Internet makes them available to teachers everywhere.

Type your lesson plan into a word processor, beginning with the intended grade level, a subject and a goal. For example, a teacher should know that your plan is appropriate for helping her fifth grade science class learn about static electricity by reading the heading. Include step-by-step instructions, with answers, for the teacher and if necessary, a separate page of age-appropriate instructions for the students. Save the file to your computer with a descriptive file name, such as "grade5_electricity_static-electricity.doc."

Open a free blog account with a provider such as Blogspot, Wordpress or TypePad. A blog is a simple-to-use website where you can post your lesson plans.

Open an account with a free file transfer protocol provider such as Net2FTP, FTP Live, DriveHQ or FileGenie. Upload your lesson plan to your account and copy the Web address of the file.

Open a PayPal account if you intend to sell your lesson plans so that other teachers' bank account information remains safe when they buy from you. Visit the "Merchant Services" section of the PayPal website and make a "Pay Now" button for each plan. Set a price that you could afford, because this amount is what another teacher is likely to pay. Paste the Web address for the lesson plan as the page where teachers will return after they pay so that they don't have access to the file until after the transaction. Save the button.

Make a new post on your blog with the same title as that of your lesson plan (for example, "Grade 5: Electricity - Static Electricity"). Write a brief description of the plan and include the link to the lesson plan (if you want to provide it freely) or the code for the "Buy Now" button at the bottom of the post. Click "Publish" to make the post visible on your blog.
