How to Write Your Own Love Story Or Poetry
By:D. Teoli

This article involves the topic of how to write your own love story or poetry. The best thing to do is read it a couple times and then begin slowly - referencing any other aids or relevant websites when the need arises.

We all have stories to tell, although some of us are better at it than others. One of the most romantic things you can do is to write your love story, and it will be a memento you can pass on to your children or leave for others to remember you by. However, there are a few things you'll want to keep in mind in order to make this process a little easier.

First Encounter

Perhaps the first step is to remember the first time you and your loved one met. What were you doing? What were you wearing, and what were the circumstances of your meeting? It's best if you do this as early as possible, as details may become foggy over time! Also, try to remember your first date or perhaps the first time you shared how you felt with your partner.

The Big Steps

Now that you know more about your first encounter, think about all the "big steps" your relationship took: your first kiss, proposal, the marriage ceremony, etc. All of these are major events you should mention, and try to remember as many details as possible. The more details and information you have, the more you have to write about.

Putting it Together

After thinking about the first time you met and all the other important aspects of your relationship, you'll need a way to keep this information organized and readily accessible; use note cards if possible. You can write titles or dates at the top, and this will be a great way to chronologically order your love story. Feel free to use more than one note card for each subject, and be as vivid and detailed as possible. Remember, you are creating something that you can look back on in the future, so it's a good idea to write as much as possible.

If you have pictures or anything you want to add, you can style it as a sort of scrapbook. You can videotape the story as told by you and your lover, including pictures, mementos, etc. Or if you really want to go all out, you can create a professionally bound book! In the end, just remember that you are creating a chronicle of your relationship, and you should treat it with as much love and care as you do your partner. Memories can be forgotten, but writing a love story will guarantee that years down the road, you and your loved one can look back, reminiscing about the love you two have shared.
