Sales Letter
By:Dhara Rami

A sales letter is one, which is written mainly to generate sales. It is considered as a customized form of direct mail marketing. It should influence your readers to take some action like they place an order or request you more additional information. Your sales letter must be informative, short, and specific and most importantly should go to the right audience. It should have a powerful headline.

First and most important step is to acquire an appropriate list of targeted customers to whom you will be sending your letter. The sales letter must represent clear benefits to your readers. It should gain readers trust. A sales letter should be written in a friendly conversational style and one should not try to impress readers with their command on English language.

Build trust within your readers by placing a testimonial quote at the top of your sales letter. The main purpose of the sales letter is to sell and simply just not to tell, so one must illustrate the product or service in detail. You can add a brochure or product sheet with your letter and must mention it within the body of your sales letter. One can also enclosing a small free gift that will have your company name and contact info printed on it. Gift is something which normally people would like to keep. It can be any thing like pen or a cap.

Never pressurize your customers into a discounted sale if you want to develop a long-term relationship with them.

Using your sales letter you can investigate whether you can solve their problems or not. Last thing you must keep in mind is to calculate the highest possible response that you can handle. Its important as by not doing so, you might find yourself in a position where you will be unable to fulfill all the orders which comes your way.
