By:Dhara Rami

We all make mistakes and the need to say sorry does occur. An apology or Sorry Letter is normally written for defective or damaged product, late payment, providing poor service, shipping delay, missing project deadline, missing an important meeting, offensive behavior, hurt feelings etc. The main purpose of writing this type of letter is to try and make amends for mistakes we have committed.

We can write an apology or Sorry letter to anyone like cousin, love, business partner, uncle, aunty, brother, sister, husband, wife, father, mother, friend etc. Apology Letter is normally written for defective or damaged product, late payment, providing poor service, shipping delay, missing project deadline, missing an important meeting, offensive behavior, hurt feelings etc. Some of important Tips to write a sorry letters are:

1. Require sincerity. What I mean to say is, if you are not really sorry from your heart for whatever you did. Then writing this letter is total waste of time.

2. Don't blame back. You should take responsibility for what you did on your shoulders. Always remember apology means "you are sorry".

3. Its always good to state that, why you are apologizing. Try to be specific about what you did. It shows that you are ready to acknowledge your mistake and will not repeat it in future. Try to put yourself in his/her place. Just think, how you would have felt if some one had done same to you.

4. On reading your sorry letter, one should get the feeling that you really understand - the mistake you committed can't be fixed by just writing a single letter and you will have to build his / her trust back.

5. Try and keep your apology letter short, simple & to the point. No one have time to read lengthy letters.

6. As you are trying to rebuild a broken relationship your letter should be respectful.

7. Also write a paragraph to fix up a time when you can apologize for your mistake in person.
