Writing and Public Speaking

Five qualities of a Good Article

Today, you can find millions of articles scattered all over the web. Did you notice that not even 10% of those articles are written in a format that we would like to read. In this article I will tell you a few important tips that will help you to not just write ordinary articles, but Good Articles.

1. KEEP IT SIMPLE:
Trying to make an article over presentable can leave it over complicated. Trying to use tough words which are hardly known by others will make your article boring and tough to read. It is advisable to use Good Plain and Simple English. When people are looking for online content, they just love simplicity and not complexity.

2. ORGANIZE YOUR ARTICLE:
It is important to use bullet points and break your article into several short paragraphs. This will make your article very presentable and organized. By making headings bold or certain sections italic, you can guide a user very nicely through your article.

3. ADD A PICTURE:
Have you heard the old saying .. "A picture is equal to thousand words". By adding pictures, diagrams, flow charts and charts to your article, you can actually convey seamlessly to your reader. You can find free images at Flickr (Which have a Creative Commons logo and are permitted for reproduction with credit given to the creator.)

4. GIVE EXAMPLES:
Nothing makes an article more interesting than providing real life examples. You can have a theory, but without an appropriate example or a real life situation it will never be able to pass the real meaning of it. Examples should be kept short and to the point.

5. USEFUL CONTENT:
Even though this point came last in my list, it is likely the most important one. Your article should cover all the points in a manner that the user can understand. Therefore before you start writing an article, make short points, do a thorough study before typing a single word.

I have written several articles at http://www.writearticles.org and on this website depending on the topic I write. I hope that these tips will be helpful when you write your next article.
