How to write articles about Tech Gadgets

Articles about Computers, Cell phones, Digital cameras and other tech gadgets are not only fun to read, but they are equally fun to write about. In this article I will tell you some basic pointers on how to start writing your own Tech articles.

1. Identify the product:
I first started writing my own technology articles was when I was looking to buy a Digital Camera for myself. I entered Best Buy and I was really overwhelmed by the choice of cameras and functions each had. I was too confused to buy anything that day, so I went home and for the next few days I did my own online reasearch and shortlisted five cameras. Meanwhile I realized that I had learned a lot about digital cameras in general and specifically about the five digital cameras I wanted to buy. Blogging and writing articles has been my hobby, so I decided to write about how to buy digital cameras. In total I write 6 articles, one for each camera I had shortlisted and another generic article on how to buy a cameras in general. You will be amazed how easy is it to write about a product when you have done some research. I would not recommend you to go and harass Sales Reps at your closest electronics store, but when they are free or if you really want to buy an item, there is no hard in gaining that extra knowledge.

2. Keep your explanation as simple as possible:

Many technology websites have articles and reviews written in a format as if everyone reading that article is an expert. In fact most people who want to read your article to gain knowledge, probably are non-tech people at all. Whatever you are writing about (Laptop, iPhone oe whatever), keep it really simple.

3. Be honest:
If you did not personally like a product, just be frank about it. Many bloggers try to write only goodies about a product. Additionally if a technology company or a store, offers you money to write good things about them, never accept their offer.

4. People search for outdated products too:
When a friend of mine wrote an article about "10 common reasons what your Gramophone may not be working, and how to fix them". I was initially not sure if the article would do any good, in fact it is one of the best article of his blog. There is not much information out there about out-dated technology gadgets.

I have written several articles at http://www.writearticles.org and on this website depending on the topic I write. I hope that these tips will be helpful when you write your next technology article.
