Article Writing Tips - Why Less Promotion is Often More
By:Darren K Chow

Article writing is very effective when it comes to traffic generation. But you must remind yourself not to promote yourself too much. Here is why.

1) Less credibility.

A large part of article writing is about building credibility. Someone searches for more information, and your articles keep appearing in the search results. If you provide valuable information, it's only a matter of time before the reader gets curious about the author - you! That's when the chance for building a relationship arises. Very likely, the visitor will click on your links to try and find out more about you.

2) Give first, take later.

The point here is to always give first and take later. When a visitor lands on your article, he is not concerned about what you are selling. He is concerned about getting what he wants first. After he gets what he wants, he is happy. Now is the time to promote yourself. Therefore, never promote yourself first. Strive to give valuable information in your article. Then include a promotional tag in the author resource box.

3) More profits!

If you do the above, the process inevitably lead to one thing - more profits! I hope you can see how this works. You build trust and credibility with your articles by promoting yourself less and giving out valuable information. In the process, you are encouraging others to reciprocate by visiting your website and learning more about what you have to offer. In your articles, you have already proven that you are the expert, and you have the solutions to their problems. Hopefully, the readers trust you enough to buy from you!
