Become A Master Typist And Type To Get More Done In Your Life
By:Michael C. Miller

Computers have become a staple in today's society. In fact, some businesses have gone on line because of the vast market that surrounds this technology. Do you know that something so insignificant as typing speed can change things around? Businesses function on speed and punctuality. This is done through data inputted through the computer, and in order to do so, you would need to have a fast typing speed. Here are four tips in order to increase your typing speed, making you even more productive in your field of work.

1. Accustom Yourself to the Keyboard
If you take a glance at your keyboard, you will notice how the keys are placed. The keyboard is made in that way so it can optimize typing. You should therefore be familiar with the positions of the keys. This will help you locate what you need in the shortest amount of time. Familiarity is the basis of it all. Practice typing so you can find the position that will perfectly fit you.

2. Accustom Yourself to the Computer Screen
It actually means that you should learn to keep glancing at the screen and not on the keyboard as you type. This way, you can learn the art of touch typing. This involves typing on the keyboard with only a mental image of the keys that you're pressing. Once you master this, you can just take a glance at the screen and comfortably type. This not only makes you more productive, it also stops wasting time. You don't have to take a glance at the keys anymore.

3. Keep Typing
As you keep on typing, you will eventually gain experience on typing common words. This form of practice will allow you to easily input your desired data in the shortest time possible. The brain works in a way that it will store repeated knowledge. So, the more you type, the more you'll retain. This, in turn, will allow you to produce words in shorter times, gradually increasing your typing speed.

4. Get that Confidence Boost
Believe it or not, people type a lot faster when they have the confidence. That also works when people want to prove themselves. Try out some typing tests and see where you fit in. 36 words per minute is the average, so if you go below that, then you should strive harder! The psychology behind it is that you believe that you're fast at typing, and as a result, you produce the results you want.

Remember, these four tips play into one role: productivity. If you know your keyboard, you can easily type faster. Once you focus on the screen, you can save a lot of time in editing because you can readily see what you've typed! Also, if you keep on typing, you will be able to produce words that you have typed before in shorter times. All this coupled with that confidence boost makes you productive enough to compete in the online business world.
