5 Ways to Improve the Republication Rate of Your Online Marketing Articles
By:Larry M. Lynch

Authors post articles online for maximum exposure. Whether we want increased traffic to a website, additions to an e-mail list or a greater online presence, online articles are a key factor in achieving our goals. Simply posting an article online though is seldom enough. To truly maximize the online exposure articles provide, the article should be re-published on multiple sites across the web. This affords ever greater exposure as webmasters, newsletters and online groups pick up the articles we post. One article can appear dozens, scores or even hundreds of times across the internet's vast sprawl. But what can we do to ensure that content-seeking sites and groups pick our offerings and posts up? Here are five ways to improve the "pick up" percentages or re-publication rates of your articles.

Provide true "take away" value

People read articles for several reasons; entertainment, nostalgia, curiosity, emotional interaction and to get information. Most though, have to do with getting information that is perceived to be of interest to the reader. While expressing opinions is a viable means of making a point, unless there is some perceived value in your article there's little reason for it to be rolled over for the perusal of others on the part of a webmaster. In addition to provoking thought, do you give the reader something "of value"? Facts, statistics, and additional print or online resources can provide needed value that gets an article picked up over and over again.

Tie Your Article Theme to a Controversial Topic

Does your article relate your target niche theme to a controversial topic? If you can make this kind of connection, readers interested in that topic will want to read the article content and provide a means for others in their particular "circle" to do so as well. The controversy can be global, regional or local, as long as it's relevant, emoti0on-stirring or thought-provoking. Terrorism, poverty, schools and education, health, wealth building and sex are all topics with their respective controversies. Be bold. Be knowledgeable. Be thought-provoking. Now, what can you tie your articles to?

Tie your Article Theme to a Current Event

This is a great way to get your articles picked up, spread far and wide and repeatedly read. Almost everyone likes to keep up with current events related to their personal interests or their field of endeavor. Tie your article or series of articles to such an event and watch your page views soar. The breaking news can provide you with the "hook" you need to gain and build your niche readership fast. Look for topics that directly or even indirectly relate to your target niche market. Show them how the current event is important for them and how you can help them with their problems. You'll reap readers and multiple pickups for your pieces. As your reputation grows, you'll be sought out for your thoughts, ideas, articles and products or services.

Address a Recurring Problem of your Target Niche

Your target niche readers all have problems. Most of them even with similar or the same ones. Address these problems with ideas and information that can be applied to help solve a problem your target niche has and you'll get picked up and re-cycled more than a meaty ham bone at a canine convention. Be sure your resource box ties in well with the needs of your target niche too for that added bonus of multiple click-throughs.

Address a Relevant Niche Topic

Even if you don't address a problem, tie into a controversial topic or a current event, you can still promote invaluable publisher and e-zine re-publication by providing some solid insight and information relevant to the readers in your niche target market. Interesting and useful facts, background, information and insight all can help to establish you as a thought-leader and expert service or product provider inside your target niche.

Be sure to use SEO keywords well in your title and articles for optimum search engine effectiveness. Those who comprise potential readers and customers need to be able to find your vast array of offerings in the boundless maze the internet has become. Carefully selected and applied keywords can help both you and your potential clients to get together.
Target your niche. Write directly to them. Use SEO well so they can find you and maximize the online exposure your articles provide by getting those pick ups from the day you post until long after the article has been written.
