Our Mission: The Awty International School provides a challenging education, leading to either the International Baccalaureate or the French Baccalauréat.

Within a friendly and nurturing environment, which encourages learning and the pursuit of excellence, Awty celebrates linguistic, cultural and international diversity and seeks to maximize the potential in all of our students as they grow to become responsible world citizens.

The school was founded in 1956 and currently enrolls over 1180 students from Pre-School through the college preparatory Upper School. There are 341 students enrolled in the Upper School. In 1979, The French School of Houston merged with the Awty School; and, due to the distinctive international character of the school, became The Awty International School in 1984. The Awty International School is the second largest international school in the United States and celebrated 50 years of academic excellence in 2006.

The faculty is comprised of experienced professionals committed to academic excellence and careful attention to the needs and aspirations of each student. Currently, our school has 83 Upper School faculty members with more than 50% holding advanced degrees.
