Since its inception in 1994, Orienton Center for Professional Education (OCPE) has been dedicated to professional and educational exchange programs between China and the United States.

Certified as an official training provider by the China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (Certification No. P0020) to conduct and facilitate short term training missions from China to the United States, Orienton Center for Professional Education has been work closely with various educational institutions, government agencies, and other orgnizations.

For the past several years, OCPE has sponsored and assisted dozens of Chinese government and professional delegations for their visit to the United States. Services provided to the training groups include facilitation of lodging, transportation, translation and tours.

OCPE has also assisted American professionals and educational groups for their visit to China. For three years in a roll, OCPE has the opportunity to facilitate the visit to China by the University of Houston-Downtown student/faculty groups. OCPE has made arrangement for American professionals and educators to visit China.

Well versed in both English and Chinese languages, the OCPE staff strives to provide quality services for Chinese and American professionals. OCPE is located in the Washington, D.C. area, and has an office in Beijing, China.

The Clarewood Institute is a non-profit educational organization registered in the State of Maryland, the United States. The Clarewood mission is to promote excellence in career and professional education. Clarewood programs include international executive training, career training, language training, and management training.

A division of Clarewood Institute, Orienton Center for Professional Education is located in the Washington, D.C. area. Since the 1990s, Orienton Center for Professional Education (OCPE) has been dedicated to international executive training programs. Working together with the University of Baltimore and other organizations, OCPE provides assistance to government and professional groups from China for their training and field trips in the United States.

Clarewood provides quality career training programs for professionals as well as dislocated workers. These programs include preparation courses for registered nurse, nursing English, spoken English, customized workforce training, career development competencies, human resource management and so on. Some training courses are delivered outside of the United States.

To assist new immigrants and foreign students in learning and practicing English, Clarewood offers English as Second Language (ESL) programs. The English Club provides free-of-charge opportunities for new immigrants and dislocated workers to learn and practice conversational English. With the support of native English-speaking volunteers, the English Club has been able to assist immigrants, who come to practice oral English on a periodical basis.

With its expertise in English language training and international executive training, Clarewood becomes a partner with a local university, the University of Baltimore. Clarewood provides English language courses and logistic support to University of Baltimore’s international visitors. In 2005, The University of Baltimore entered into an agreement with Clarewood for recruiting Chinese students in the university’s master’s degree programs and providing English language/American culture training. The China Program in the Provost's Office and the Clarewood Institute will coordinate recruitment efforts including communications with government agencies, interviews, authorized recruiters, partner universities, and U.S. Embassy in China.

Clarewood is involved in hosting an international career development conference in March 2006, which is sponsored by International Council of Career Development (ICCD), an affiliate organization with the Clarewood Institute. ICCD's annual training conference, to be held in Washington, D.C., will be featured in comparison of global career development systems and best practices in career development. The conference will also provide competencies training in career development.

With the rapid economic growth in recent years, China is in need of thousands of English teachers. Clarewood offers a high quality, practical online TEFL (teach English as a foreign language) certificate course.
