The International School of Phnom Penh (ISPP) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian day school offering a high quality English language international education to the local and expatriate community of Phnom Penh. Founded in 1989, ISPP has grown from a six student cooperative school to 484 students in Preschool to Grade 12. We are the largest international school in Cambodia, and the only authorized IBO World School in the country.

The school’s IBO Curriculum (IBO World School, with authorization in PYP, MYP and Diploma) provides an excellent academic program based on communication skills, thinking skills, interpersonal skills and research skills. It is a rigorous, portable program for all nationalities, and graduation from ISPP with the IB Diploma affords the opportunity to return to most home country universities, and certainly is superb preparation for attendance in North America and Europe. ISPP received its ten year joint accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Council for International Schools (CIS) after having been accredited by WASC for the past 5 years. With over 29 nationalities represented, the student body is truly “international”. As one might expect, language study is integral to our program and a majority of students are either bilingual or functionally fluent in more than one language. Our Mother Tongue Program now teaches 17 different languages.

In addition to our academic program, we also boast fine co-curricular offerings including sports drama, dance, music and the fine arts. Over 85% of our students are involved in some after school activity. Community service is also an integral part of our school. Students as young as grade 2 begin learning about community and the opportunities available to help others. As students mature, they take part in activities and programs within the community such as house building, providing learning resources to Khmer schools, or working with orphans. Teachers are also involved, not only in sponsoring these activities, but in assisting in teacher training of Cambodian nationals.

Finally, ISPP serves as a community center and resource, providing parents a place to meet and become involved with their children’s education, and with each other. Our campus hosts several groups for recreation, sport, and music activities.
