Eighty percent of the faculty have earned at least a Masters Degree.

The International School Yangon was founded in 1952 but moved to its current location in 1988. The school is located on a four acre campus on the outskirts of the city. The campus includes seven buildings which house forty-three classrooms, a library of over 27,000 volumes, three science labs, two music rooms, two art rooms, five computer labs, a lunchroom, and a multipurpose room. There are two playground areas, two covered courts and one field. A new elementary building was constructed and opened to students in 2006.
