Visiting Vietnam
By:Jack S Hunter

Vietnam, that once war torn country of savagery and fighting, has blossomed into a great tourism location, with many cities and land forms to explore. The country itself is extremely tropical as far as climate goes. In the summertime it's been known to shower for many days straight, making it one of the wettest places on earth. The ground is lush and green from all of the moisture, and rice paddies dot the landscape. Thanks to the limestone base that makes up a lot of the country, water has made under ground caverns and lake valleys that are just about unique anyplace else on earth.

Lately the largest cave in the planet was just discovered by spelunkers in Vietnam. The cavern is many miles in length, and was formed by a stream running underground through the limestone, creating a massive tunnel. Spelunkers have not even finished exploring the monstrous cavern yet; it is so giant that expeditions in the cavern have not even reached the cave's end.

Because of the collapse of lime rock over time, water has gradually filled in empty spaces made by limestone sink holes. This creates an extraordinary rock formation that provides shelter for many citizens who live on the water for the complete lives. Entire hamlets of wood and sticks are assembled to hover on the water within the bay, which is protected from the sea by tall rock islands made of limestone that have not yet been eroded away.

These and other dazzling sights are just waiting to be beheld by people who choose to do some Vietnam travel. Known to form tiny trinkets for travelers, the Vietnamese have made a growing tourist industry that for years had been not possible following the upheaval made by the Vietnam war.
