Correctly identifying your motivation will encourage you to keep up the pursuit and help you get you through the tough times that accompany learning anything new.

2. Employ alternative learning methods.

Reading an English language textbook cover to cover may not be the best way to learn. This can be boring and you might end up quitting half-way through the learning process. For this reason, English tutors now employ games and puzzles to help students have fun during classes. You should also read fun materials such as comic strips and children's books. Every person is different. Whatever method you choose, make sure it's a method suited for you.

3. Make friends with native English speakers

Having friends who are adept at the language will help you learn English much faster. When you're with native speakers, make it a point to speak in English even if they know how to speak your language. You will discover that you are more comfortable speaking a new language when you are in a friendly atmosphere. Casual conversations are one of the best ways to learn how to speak English correctly.

4. Increase Exposure to English

Just be sure you don't get too caught up in the plot. After all, your goal is to learn English and speak English. Also listen to popular English songs and take time to read newspapers in the English language. All of these combined can really jump start your learning experience in an entertaining way.

5. Reward Yourself.

Set goals and reward yourself each time your goal is made. Remember, it is important not to push yourself too hard or you may end up being discouraged when your goals don't come as quickly as you would have liked. Reward yourself for each small victory and you will find that you will become even more motivated to learn English. Celebrate each accomplishment and milestone with your favourite meal, going to movie or taking a day off and spending it with friends.
