World Famous Berlin Beer Festival - Germany
By:Gaurav Ks

Where there is such an overwhelming festival that is waiting for you to go to have a lot of fun. In Berlin, the festival takes place the first weekend of August, unlike Munich, whose festivity is in October, that's why it is called ‘Oktoberfest’. Not only Berliners but also visitors from every coin of the world go to the Berlin's Beer Festival to get wasted with litters and litters of that precious liquid.

The best thing about it is the price; you can be relaxed as you are not going to pay through your nose (you are not going to pay an expensive price), since there are no cover charges. Obviously you will have to pay for the beer you consume, that for granted will be a lot, so do not be a party pooper and go to chill out there.

During the festival’s days, 1,800 various kinds of beer, that are produced by 240 brewers in 80 countries are offered to the celebrators. The beer avenue begins in Frankfurter Tor, continues in Strausberger Platz and reaches its climax along Karl-Marx-Alee. This is an enormous continuity of beer and food fiesta along 2.2 km. All the festival’s events are accompanied by musical shows performed on 18 stages. The entry to the festival is free.

The Germans take the beer itself just as seriously as the ensuing revelry, and the festival showcases the Privatbrauereien (small independent breweries) which have long given German brewing a distinctive profile. Due to the numerous visitors during the festival days and the high demand for tickets and accommodations it is recommended to book business class flights to Berlin for celebrate this festival well in advance.

Each beer festival will have huge beer tents, idyllic beer gardens and light hearted entertainment with typical Bavarian oomph or local brass bands. Some landlords even lay on international rock and pop stars to attract more visitors.

Visitors can call in at the various Information Points along the route to purchase the official Festival Beer Mug to carry along with them, replenishing it at the various bars along the way.

The Festival represents the opportunity of trying beers from all over the world. All the most famous brand names are here – along with others only the most dedicated beer aficionado will have heard of.
