Spectacular Fireworks Light Up the Night Sky of Monaco in Summer

Monaco, is a city on the famous Cote d'Azur or French Riviera. Known to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix the city also organises another unique festival, the International Fireworks Festival in the summer every year. This year the festival will be held from July 9th to August 25th, 2011. The dazzling Festival held every year since 1966 attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. It is a competition of fireworks where many experts from around the world participate to exhibit their skills. The event will begin as soon as it gets dark and competitors launch their unique fireworks that lit the night sky beautifully. Their fireworks are accompanied with music. The winner of the show will display his talents on the evening before the National holiday on November 18th.

The spectacular fireworks can be viewed from various locations such as from a cafe around the port, from the Royal Palace, the ramparts of Fort Antoine, off the Casino Terrace. A trip to France at any time during the year is rewarding. However, planning a trip around some of the annual events can be even more rewarding.

So if you're planning a trip to the French Riviera this summer on a cheap ferry at low prices, be sure to attend the International Fireworks Festival of Monaco. In addition to the fireworks, there are many other attractions for tourists in Monaco such as the Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium, Monaco Cathedral, the Princes Palace, the Jardin Exotique and the Monaco Opera House.

Oceanographic Museum is a popular attraction and has a fantastic collection of marine life. Built in 1875, the Monaco Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Nicolas. Located in the old Monaco-Ville, the castle is well worth a visit and offers a breathtaking view of the port and Monte Carlo city. There are guided tours every day at the castle.

Jardin Exotique is a beautiful garden and a trip to this garden with a thousand flowers and rare plants from around the world will be unforgettable. Some of the best international performances of ballet, opera and concerts are held in the auditorium of the architecturally beautiful opera house.

Other interesting things to do in Monaco include trying your luck at the Grand Casino provided your budget allows or explore the fascinating natural seabed off the coast in "Aquavision". Travellers can go on a sight-seeing tour on the fun tourist trains to see the local attractions.

Tourists can attend any great concert in the exclusive Monte Carlo Sporting Club as various dazzling concerts by great artists are held here during summer time. Travellers who intend to visit other places near Monaco such as Nice and Paris.

If travellers take the road to Canal, Monaco is about 550 miles away from Calais and travellers who take Dover Calais ferry have to drive about nine hours to reach Monaco. Another option is the first visit Nice and then take a ferry along the coast from Nice to Monaco.
