Thanks for the input guys. Here's the followup letter he sent me which confirms to me that he is Adler:

"Chris,
The fees must be paid prior to the processing of your work visa. The problem being that many people say they will pay and say they will go - but end up not doing so and costing us a lot of time and money. Once we can confirm your acceptance of the deal and your signing and sending the contract along with necessary papers for the visa - we will give you directions on how to pay the processing fees. Thank you for your concern. We'll be in touch as soon as we receive confirmation from you.
