Lying is a bad idea. Just be confident that you can do the job!

If at all possible, contact your prospective employer be phone. Let them at least hear what you sound like, after all listening is a major part of language learning.

If your phone skills are good, then it gives greater confidence to your employer about inviting a "stranger" to work for them.
