Understanding Hindi Language

Interesting facts about Hindi Language:

Hindi is the most wide spoken language in India, specially in Northern India. It is one of the oldest language of the world and with India emerging as a strong economic power, Hindi is bound to take a strong center stage. Many languages in India including Hindi originated from Sanskrit.

You many be surprised but several common words of English have also been adopted from Hindi Language, some of them are: Avatar, Bangle, Bungalow, Cheetah, Dacoit, Dharma, Guru, Jungle, Karma, Loot, Pundit and many others.

Hindi has a special relationship with Urdu: their grammar is virtually identical, and they have a substantial vocabulary in common.

Hindi is written in Devnagari or 'Nagari' script. The script is phonetic; so that Hindi, unlike English, is pronounced as it is written. Therefore, it is easy to learn the characters of the script and the sounds of the language at the same time.
