While not a common vacation hotspot, spending your vacation in India is an exciting and adventurous way to experience a unique country with a variety of cultures. With over 1 billion citizens, India has one of the world's most unique cultural bases. Vacations India provides tourists with package deals that can help cut down on the costs of traveling to and around India. When in India you should be sure that you visit the capital city of Delhi, the city of Punjab, and be around for the Diwali celebration.

The first place you must see on your India vacation is the capital city of Delhi, which is split between Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi houses many historic and beautiful attractions such as mosques, and forts which are elements of India's history. New Delhi is a modernized city with new governmental buildings, and lots of tourism inspired shopping. Also within Delhi are Red Fort, and Humayun's Tomb, both of which have been declared World Heritage Sites.

The next city you must visit on your India vacation, is Punjab. Punjab is a modernized city which boasts a newer public transportation system which connects you to all over the city. Punjab boasts many restaurants, along with historic and beautiful land marks including the Indus Valley civilization landmark, the Golden Temple, and many other amazing gardens and temples.

One event you should definitely not miss out on when in India is Diwali. In the Hindu religion, Diwali marks the moment when Lord Raama returns to his kingdom after defeating the demon king, Ravana.

Diwali is celebrated for 5 days, which begins in late September or early October, and is based off of the Hindu lunar calendar. Diwali is a great celebration in India, and throughout the country you will see amazing cultural traditions, and enjoy a great feast.
