Not only is the Taj Mahal one of the most spectacular architectural displays in the world, but the exterior grounds are a beauty to behold with landscaped gardens situated on the banks of the Yamuna River.

Once you walk through the gateway into the Agra Fort, you will understand the importance of this attraction. The Agra Fort is home along the banks of the Yamuna River with a 70-foot high wall protecting the magnificent palaces that dot the area. The fort was built in 1565AD by Akbar and still stand today in all its glory with halls adorned with stone carvings and of course the breath-taking palaces, which include Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Am and Moti Masjid.

Itmad-ud-Daula is a tomb created by Nur Jahan in the memory of her father, Ghiasud-Din-Beg. The tomb, which was created sometime between 1622 and 1828 AD, is one that shows the admiration and affection a daughter has for father uniquely designed from white marble.

Ram Bagh is one of the first Mughal gardens ever created. The garden by Babur, one of the first Mughal emperors, was laid out in 1528. This exquisite garden is one that will allow you to embrace the beauty of India while rejuvenating your soul while you rest among beside the riverside.
