Top Language School

Hi Cassidy!
I don't know how long ago you wrote this message. (I was looking for a date but couldn't find one.) My experience with Top Language in Jeonju was awful and I'm guessing that things haven't changed much since I was there in October last year. The owners, John and his wife Mrs. Ahn, are the worst people I have ever met. I've been teaching in Korea since Dec 2004 including a university job and I have never been treated so badly as I was by them just as soon as they got my signature on their contract. Before that, they were oh so charming and kind and took me to dinner and sightseeing and put me up in a hotel etc. Then John kept calling and actually begging me to teach for his school. To make a long story short, they will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign their contract - don't trust them. My contract suddenly disappeared after John asked to see my copy the second week I was there. These owners really believe that you belong to them for the duration of your contract. They will come to your apt anytime they feel like it - day or night. John came to my apt more than once way after midnight, woke me to tell me about his marital problems with his jealous wife so that I would feel sorry for him and agree to recruit more American teachers for him so he could play golf all week and hide from his wife. I could go on and on with these unbelievable stories. And I was only there for 1 month! Luckily, I was able to find a great job on Jeju Island and I'm still here. My boss is great and I'll be renewing my contract for another year soon. No Top Language teachers ever renew. They all can't wait to leave that school. I heard all the complaints from my first day but I didn't want to believe them. So, believe me, you can do a lot better than Top Language School.
