I was just wondering about the positions that require you to have a TESOL certificate.

While I agree that taking a TESOL course has advantages, I would disagree that most schools require it, or are starting to require it.

It may happen that you have 45 schools that would prefer to hire someone with a TESOL certificate, but I find it doubtful that they are only hiring someone with a TESOL certificate.

I am a big fan of education, but I am no fan of anything that is misleading, and I think that leading people to believe that having a TESOL certificate is anywhere near being a requirement is very misleading. I think you would be better off selling your course on the basis of the merit of having it and the self-confidence you can acquire by taking it.

But, leading people to believe that it is necessary will only cause people to doubt your credibility, thus hurting your image in the long run.

You and your husband seem to have a good business idea, and I hope that it is very successful. But it will only be so if you look at the long range and at building trust with clients.
