The Panamerican School is private, non-profit, eduactional community that is bilingual and multicultural, and offers a U:S type curriculum accredited by the Colombian Miniatry of education (EN) and the Southern Association of Colleges and School (SACS).

The Panamericano curriculum is based on cleary defined Colombian and US standards for students learning and is focused on supporting and challenging all students to excel their learning.

Colegio Panamericano is a private, non-profit, bilingual, multi-cultural school of approximately 600 students located in Bucaramanga, Colombia. It is known as "the city of parks". As a city of one million, we are the best "little/big" city in Colombia. We have been providing excellent personal as well as educational opportunities to our students since 1963. Fully accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in the United States as well as the Colombian Ministry of Education; we are searching for enthusiastic and dedicated educators who wish to positively contribute to our community and make a difference in the lives of our students. The past five years have been very productive for our community as we continually improve our instillations and academic programs.

The Pan-American School is growing and currently offers the following:

Symphonic band in elementary (growing into High School) with more than 150 members.
Curricular integration projects being created K-12 by our staff with the guidance of the section Principals using McRel standards.
A modern media center with more than 18,000 volumes, and growing. There are also several computer work stations for staff and student use.

2 new IT labs, robotics, a campus-wide wireless network and an aggressive technology expansion plan currently being implemented.

Massive new school construction plan including a recently completed sports coliseum that holds 800 people, a new MS building (grades 5-7), a new school entrance and parking lot, nature reserve and football field and a new lower elementary building which was inaugurated in January of 2007.

Bucaramanga is a city located on a plateau at 1,000 meters above the sea. It has a population of about 1,000,000 people. Even though it is about the size of Ottawa, it has a small town feeling. Bucaramanga is called “The City of Parks”, or “The Beautiful City”; it is known as one of the best cities in Colombia in which to live because it offers many of the services and facilities of a large city while maintaining a comfortable and accessible atmosphere. It does not take long before you know the city and begin to recognize familiar faces.

The city is made up of many neighborhoods. You will quickly become familiar with some of the major areas for shopping, recreation, and business. Downtown “El Centro” is the major business district in Bucaramanga. The school is located in Cañaveral, a small suburb of Bucaramanga. It has a small shopping center in walking distance of the school and teachers’ apartments. The city is surrounded by the Andes Mountains that offer picturesque scenery.

The weather is semi-tropical all year. The daytime temperatures are warm (25°C - 30°C) while nights are usually cooler (20°C). There is a rainy season that lasts about two months and it rains almost every day. However, the sun also shines almost every day.
