I have read about many foreign industries coming over to Canada and bringing their unethical business practices with them. No doubt the rise in this kind of behavior in Canada can be attributed to the growing greed of the global world coming together and trying to play on getting more strength in numbers type of game. They and the folks who benefit from this will stop at nothing including purchasing and influencing native media outlets to make it seem like it's not such a big deal.

If I were an American or Canadian who truly believed in a democratic, free way of life this type of business behavior would not be called American or Canadian. Thankfully there are still plenty of folks who see themselves as citizens and not just tools to be used in this world.

Your categorization of 50% workers being taken advantage of can be confirmed by myself as I have obviously worked in the USA and I feel that I was taken advantage of particularly at a customer service job for a large satellite dish company. But that doesn't mean that the abuse I encountered was on the exact same scale that I had been through when I was working overseas, particularly in China.

There is a notion amongst more people in developed countries these days to put a "one size fits all" look at the injustices and abnormalities of a society. Realize that no societies are perfect, but on the other hand quitting or losing your job in a developed country will not get you thrown in jail or harassed by government officials or even blacklisted. This has happened to people I know personally who have worked in developing countries.

Undeveloped nations still have plenty of Barbaric Vices to get over, and I use "Barbaric Vices" in a technical way. There are truly some places in this world where people just cannot kill heretic mental diseases on such a massive scale that drag each of their whole respective societies down.
