Self Motivation - Pushing Yourself to Take the First Step
By:Kenneth Friedberg

If you are in your sixties or older you would remember, The Road To movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. Well, now you can have your own road to of your own. It would be a road to a happier you. Absolutely, a happier you using positive self-talk.

No more feeling sorry for yourself that you did not get that promotion you deserved more so than the other person. Take the road to success; after all you do want it and deserve it. People are afraid of success. Listen again, people are afraid of success. We all want success, but for some reason that fear factor pops up. None of us wants to admit it, but there it is staring us right in the face.

Look at the "big picture, take it all in. There is nothing worse than climbing up a three meter diving board looking down and start to shake from fright that you have to dive down into the pool. " I know men in the ranks who are going to stay in the ranks". You do and you are possibly one of those until you come to grips with your life and proudly say that the first step to the right path of success is using self-talk.

Get into the correct mindset discover yourself from the inside. Get down and dirty and find out who you really are. You will be shocked to find that the real you can be the aggressive person, can be the bright shining star to take control of yourself and any situation that comes up.

Building your self- confidence to a higher level and raising the bar on your self- esteem will take some time, but not as long as you think. Positive self-talk is the tool to use. Make it your own tool, every day talk to that inner me. Soon the inner me will respond to a more positive you. Please do not shrink from your responsibilities of being everything you ever wanted to be. Success should not be feared it should be revered. Put your hand out there feel around and tell yourself that whatever you want is within your grasp.

I can say positive self-talk until I am blue in the face. Then take a deep breath and start over again. Smiling will help every time. I personally have gotten jobs because I smiled through each interview. Some people look at me and wonder why I am smiling, don't worry about those people. Many years ago I applied to work in customer service with BellSouth. They do a whole day of going from one interview to another and I kept smiling through each and every one. When the last interviewer talked to me it was short and sweet. Each person that I talked to through the process commented and wrote down this man keeps smiling. I am sure you guessed it, the job was mine. In six months this smiling man moved up to the next rung. Success was mine. Positive self-talk got me to where I wanted to be. By talking to myself and discovering who I was brought me to a level of success. As you can see it is not impossible. Start the process of positive self-talk.

My name is Ken Friedberg and I authored several articles on raising the bar on self esteem and self confidence through the process positive self-talk. I invite you to read my blog http://learntobepositiveblog.wordpress.com.
