9 Tips Mum Didn't Give You About Dating!
By:Andre Palmer

1st - Your profile is important. Think carefully about how you present yourself, what pictures to show and what you call yourself. Be positive, do not let bitterness shine through. Avoid phrases such as: "I hate lies, or this or that". Use things like 'I value honesty highly. " instead.

2nd - Show that you are unique in a concrete and clear manner, so you do not become too flat, boring or ordinary. "People like to sip a fine Alsace wine while listening to, whatever music you like," says much more about you than something like, "I like cozy evenings at home". Unless you can make it sound good without being boring.

3rd - Bring up your curiosity. Do not give a full account of your life, but invite a few interesting parts that will want the reader to know more about you. If you write: "When I woke up in hospital in South Africa, I saw life in a new way", want anyone reading to know more.

4th - Play with contrasts. A woman who calls herself "Erotic Eva" as she writes about her great literary interest and post pictures of herself in an armchair in the library, shows that she is multifaceted and has a sense of humor.

5th - Think about what signals you put out there with what you write. If you use a nick-name like "Ready for fun", you might sound like someone who just came out of a bad relationship, divorce or whatever. It can be misunderstood, so just try to be smart about it.

6th - Once you decide to meet in real life, there are more things you should keep in mind: Try to meet as soon as possible. Personal chemistry is so important that it can overturn a year chatting in a few seconds.

7th - Agree on a public venue that is safe, and tell someone where you are. Make up the rules in advance: determining how long your date should be, and that you shall not take any decision on the possible continuation of the site, so you avoid awkward situations. Never begin with full days, long dining or cinema is my recommendation.

8th - Show that you have made an effort, be neat and tidy, and listen as much as you talk. This is mostly important for us men to think about!

9th - Do not mention your ex. They have nothing to do with your future, or at least, hopefully they don't have anything to do with your future.
